Why ProActive? Why such a large emphasis on taking a proactive approach to health and wellness? Because our healthcare system is broken. The power is often left out of our hands and we are stuck being reactive to the things that pop up in our lives pertaining to health.

Modern science and our healthcare system has placed a large amount of research and effort on this reaction based approach. And we've come a long way. We're able to do remarkable things to fight disease and illness . But what if those diseases didn't have to be there in the first place? There are also amazing things we can do to try and mitigate this decline in health. Why should we have to wait until disease has manifested to take control? 

The reality is that we deserve to have control of our health and have the best possible quality of life. There is an important distinction to make between healthspan and lifespan. Healthspan is your quality of life and amount of years you spend free of disease or disability. Chronic disease robs us of our healthspan. This is what we must take back.

That's what ProActive Health and Wellness is all about. The interventions, education and strategies that empower everyone to view things through this lens

Nick Lambe is the founder of ProActive Health and Wellness. He is a personal trainer, health coach, massage therapist and sleep coach. But most of all he envisions himself as a healthcare practitioner. He feels that it's his responsibility to filter the information in the field down to practical strategies that people can implement to improve their health and quality of life.

His inspiration for the ProActive and preventative approach comes from personal experience. After watching two of his grandparents suffer with Alzheimer's he became enamored with how he could help prevent this others and their families from having to go through this. Upon digging, he soon realized that the recent surrounding Alzhimer's was much more promising in a proactive way. That the preventative measures were infinitely more effectively than trying to treat the disease once it already manifested. He soon found that this was the case for most if not all of the chronic diseases that threaten our future health. He made it his mission to share this approach with as many people as he could.
